Mantra

Mantra (repetitive chanting) and kirtan (mantra sung as call and response) are both excellent practices suitable for all ages and abilities. Try it silently, or spoken repeatedly with intention [ajapa japa]; either on your own, or with a group sitting in a circle. 

Fundamentally, at the quantum level, everything is made up of vibration; so through the practice of yoga and mantra we not only strengthen our own vibrations, deepening our understanding of ourselves, but strengthen our harmonious connections to other people, places and situations.

 

Mantra, Meditation & Relaxation Evening, at Burnmouth Village Hall, north of Berwick, Scottish Borders TD14 5SL

Friday 13th January 2012, 7.30pm - 9.30pm

Gently re-charge your batteries with a soothing mixture of chanting, breath work and relaxation, with plenty of breaks for refreshments and chat.  Please bring something to share with the group - be it a poem, a cake, a song, a story, or just a smile! Bring your favourite cushion and/or blanket and wear warm, loose layers of comfortable clothing. Some teas and coffee are provided, but if you have a preference, bring it along. Everyone is welcome to this very informal gathering. No previous experience of yoga or mantra is necessary. 

A donation will kindly be requested to support the cost of the evening.
